Granary Wharf

Since April 2008, we have held the PR account for Granary Wharf, the only development site in Leeds to continue construction through the recession. Unusually for a developer, ISIS is committed to place-making and not creating cheap accommodation or investment properties to sell at the highest price, and Granary Wharf is now an award-winning, lively destination on the city’s waterfront with a growing community of residents, housed in signature buildings Waterman’s Place and Candle House.

Working closely with the ISIS team and its other agencies over a period of phenomenal change within the industry, we have devised and delivered a strategy of communication with a range of stakeholders with differing needs including local authorities, tourism and other marketing agencies, prospective tenants, residents and the media.

Our initial involvement in the public and media launch of Granary Wharf was extended to enable us to build the profile of the scheme through significant milestones, include the topping out ceremony, the scheme’s completion and summer events including Pannier Markets and a Big Picnic.

In addition to raising awareness of the residential schemes at Granary Wharf we have generated a high media profile for new commercial tenants The Hop, Out of the Woods and Fazenda; Leeds Guide; Yorkshire Evening Post; The Business Desk. We have managed several events at Granary Wharf, specifically designed to further enhance the scheme’s reputation and to raise its media profile, including the Rooftop Terrace on Candle House; an event to commemorate the

completion of Granary Wharf and partnerships with Leeds City Council, Marketing Leeds and Yorkshire Gardens Trust.

Media coverage has been achieved across trade, national and regional consumer titles in print, broadcast and online media, resulting in over 250 pieces of coverage and almost 50 million editorial opportunities to see.

Crucially, despite some of the toughest trading conditions ever faced by the development sector, Granary Wharf experienced an outstanding first year with 46% of residential properties sold, high quality new businesses attracted and awards won for this outstanding destination including the highest accolade Supreme Award 2011 winner.
